Welcome to Cyprus Hotels

Are you looking for Hotel in Northern Cyprus ?

Limassol Cyprus:

Although the laqrgest and most popular tourist centre in Cyprus, as well as its key industrial and commercial hub (thanks mainly to its excellent port facilities), it takes quite a strech of imagination to describe this city of 140,000 as ''attractive'', even if it does consider itself to be the ''Paris of Cyprus''. Yet Limassol has its points of interest as well as being a good base for exploring the southern coast and the Troodos Mountains.

In addition, the city has an active and occasionally sophisticated nightlife scene, which is an important contributory factor to Limassol's popularity. whether it makes economic sense (it certainly makes no environmental sense) to fill up the adjacent coastline with cheek-by-jowl hotels remains to be seen.

OLD TOWN SIGHTS Occupying a commanding position near the Old Harbour, Limassol Castel, which dates to the Lusignan era in the 13th century, with later modifications by the Venetians, Turks, and Britsh, provides present-day visitors with an excellent viewpoint from its battlements. Its main claim to fame now, however, is that it houses the Cyprus Medieval Museum in a series of Gothicarched halls deep in its interior. the museum complements this gloomily atmospheric setting with exhibits that consist mainly of funerary monuments.
The higgledy-piggledy houses of the former Turkish Quarter are all clustered around Limassol Castle, making it an excellent district in which to wander, browsing in the numerous small boutiques and workshops that have sprung up.
the quietly distinguished little Orthodox church of Agias Antonios can be found in this part of the city. Notable also is the adjacent mosque. Unlike the church, however, this is closed for renovation.
A fairly sleepy corner compared with the frenetic activity of the modern commercial port, the Old Harbour retains elements of colour in the many fishing boats tied up gunwale to gunwale. Private yachts and cruisers are also moored here, and this is the starting-point for cruise excursions up and down the coast. The seafront promenade starts from near the harbour and makes for a pleasant, shaded stroll beside the Mediterranean.
